'West End Rules!' in latest issue of Time Out magazine

Our good partners at Time Out have come up trumps for Theatreland this week. The new issue of Time Out magazine, out today (22 March 2012), is the “West End Rules!” issue.

The weekly magazine features an exclusive interview with cover boy and former Whatsonstage.com Award winner David Suchet on the eve of his return to the stage next month in Eugene O’Neill’s Long Day's Journey into Night. Amongst other things, Suchet talks about his Fleet Street photographer grandfather, the secret to never being out of work, his favourite (less obvious) Shakespeare roles, the popularity of Poirot, and why he had to play James Tyrone now or never.

We especially like Suchet’s answer about what London means to him: “I think it is the greatest city in the world, and, having played in most other cities, I know that it is the greatest city in the world for theatre. There are more venues per square mile here than anywhere else.”
