Podcast: #WOSOuting to A Chorus Line

Last night we took over 300 theatregoers to see the hit revival of A Chorus Line at the London Palladium.

The show – which takes a behind-the-scenes look at 17 hopefuls auditioning for just eight places in a new Broadway musical – has a book by James Kirkwood and Nicholas Date, with music by the late Marvin Hamlisch and lyrics by Edward Kleban. Its famous score includes numbers such as “I Hope I Get It”, “Sing!” and, most memorably, “One (Singular Sensation)”.

The revival is directed by Bob Avian, who also helmed the 2006 Tony-nominated Broadway production. Avian was original director Michael Bennett’s long-term collaborator and his co-choreographer on the original production.

The cast includes John Partridge as Zach, Scarlett Strallen as Cassie, Leigh Zimmerman as Sheila and Victoria Hamilton-Barritt as Diana. Following the show we were joined by Partridge and Strallen, plus other members of the cast, as well as producer Mark Goucher for a Q&A.

To listen to the Q&A, which was hosted by Theo Bosanquet, click the ‘play’ button below; or to subscribe and download from itunes, click here.

As always, please feel free to email your comments and thoughts about the show, as well as any of your favourite insights from last night to feedback@whatsonstage.com and don’t forget to tweet using #wosouting! We would love to hear from you.
