Debbie McGee joins the cast of Grease on tour

The new touring production of Grease has revealed that Debbie McGee will be appearing in the cast.

McGee, who trained at the Royal Ballet School and rose to fame as the assistant of popular magician Paul Daniels in the 1980s, will play the role of Miss Lynch in the musical. In 1991, she became one of the first female magician members of The Magic Circle and in 2017, she competed on Strictly Come Dancing.

Further casting will be announced at a later date.

Nikolai Foster directs the teen musical, penned by Jim Jacobs and Warrey Casey, that follows Danny and Sandy through their senior year at Rydell High. Famed numbers in the show include “Summer Nights”, “Greased Lightnin'” and “Hopelessly Devoted to You.”

Arlene Phillips choreographs the piece that WhatsOnStage hailed a “thunderously good evening out” during a previous run at the West End’s Dominion Theatre. Phillips also picked up a WhatsOnStage Award for Best Choreography in 2023.

The creative team also includes designer Colin Richmond, orchestrator and musical supervisor Sarah Travis, lighting designer Ben Cracknell, sound designers Tom Marshall and Richard Brooker and casting director David Grindrod.

The show played two West End seasons at the Dominion, and previously toured in 2024. It will now commence a new season with dates locked in for 2027, including newly announced stops in Dublin, Blackpool and Manchester. We’ve detailed them on the show’s tour page.
