A St Helens Christmas Carol

About the Show

Ebony Scrooge hates living in St Helens, there’s nothing for her to do and she’s fed up of empty shops, pound shops & charity shops. Her brother Freddie and his friends love their hometown, whereas Ebony doesn’t believe that anything good has ever or will ever come from St Helens… until she receives a mysterious warning. A warning that she must change her ways or face terrible consequences. Join the Ghosts of St Helens’ Past, Present and Yet to Come as they take Ebony on a journey, celebrating the achievements of St Helens and its people from 1868 to present day and beyond.

Supported by HLF Sharing Heritage, the ST Helens Youth Theatre have devised this performance to celebrate 150 years of St Helens. By using Oral Histories, museum visits and research via the local history archive, the young people have used their findings to create this contemporary twist on the Charles Dickens classic.
