The Riot

When a dispute amongst fishermen over Sunday observance turns into a battle between rival towns, the army is called to quell the riot. Caught in the crossfire is Thomas Bolitho – a merchant, magistrate, mine owner and mayor – who respects the fishermen’s beliefs, but knows that riots are bad for business.
