About the Show

Within a smokey, dimly lit jazz club Iago plots his scheme to overthrow Othello, the moor. Trust is eroded and innocence is corrupted in Shakespeare’s tragic tale of manipulation and jealousy, ?Othello’. Featuring live jazz, this exciting, new take on one of Shakespeare’s darkest plays is not one to miss. The Cambridge University European Theatre Group is a self-sufficient, entirely student-run theatrical company, set up in 1957 by a group of students including Sir Derek Jacobi and Sir Trevor Nunn. The company tours a Shakespeare play around Europe for two weeks every December before two performances in London.
