Normality is a brilliantly funny new musical that tells the story of a computer and prog-rock wunderkind, Norman Goodman. It is a funny interrogation of contemporary capitalism and the value of true friendship, tackling some all-too-familiar challenges with great humour and real heart.
Norman Goodman, a likeable guy, accidentally lands a low-level City job in London, and quickly proves his prowess in developing an IT system for predicting market trends – but he finds himself at the heart of a catastrophic financial scam. In a world of morally and financially bankrupt capitalists, who can you trust?
The writers Nige Reid and Jules Kleiser both hail from the rock industry proper. Primarily songwriters and musicians, they have a track record of producing performance-based shows, including previous residences at The Edinburgh Festival plus musical shows based on the life of Hank Williams and the films of Quentin Tarantino. They have also made a documentary, Swim Fat Boy Swim, as featured on the Community Channel.
