About This Show

Go is the world’s oldest board game. Move 37 is the most famous move in its history. See a lecture performance inspired by the moment AI beat the human mind. In 2016, AlphaGo (a computer program developed by Google’s DeepMind) came up with a solution no human could imagine. With that powerful move, the radical weirdness of AI stares us in the face. In Move 37, Thomas Ryckewaert takes this moment as the starting point. With cosmologist and Stephen Hawking collaborator Thomas Hertog, he presents us with phenomena far beyond our imaginations. Join them on a trip through the dark, cool horror of the intelligent machine and what it means to be human. Nothing is what it seems: human becomes alien, the computer intuitive, perception is deceived and the robot dreams.
