ACE Dance and Music – Ten

A fusion of contemporary and traditional African Caribbean forms, from dancers, drummers and international artists of all ages. Featuring Impulse, Birmingham’s own adults’ community performance group, Jamo Jamo Arts providing live African drumming and dance from Senegal, ACE Youth Dance Academy and Untold Dance Company from Amsterdam.

To celebrate 20 years of creating and touring dance shows, ACE have reunited with choreographer Jose Agundo to make an extraordinary new piece – TEN. At a time when more and more people across the world find themselves leaving their own lands, ideas of home and belonging are changing. Full of both intense physical power and very human fragility, TEN explores the concepts of moving away and leaving, looking at how and why people choose previously unimagined destinies over the lives they’d always thought they’d live.
