About the Show

Dance Art Foundation Artistic Director and choreographer Joe Moran tackles choreographic ideas in mediums beyond dance with a new series of large-scale spray paint works installed in Sadler’s Wells Rosebery Room. In counterpoint to five spray paint panels, two dancers perform Moran’s durational performance Singular, a work that challenges dancers with complex perceptual puzzles. Together these elements offer a compelling interplay between ?expanded choreography’ and live performance. A second, more mobile version of Singular will travel throughout Sadler’s Wells foyers. The free performances and installation take place before the evening stage works, 6pm-7.30pm, and during the interval, 8.30pm-9pm. Performed by Moran’s long term collaborators, the exceptional dancers Katye Coe and Hilary Stainsby, and Christopher Owen and Alexander Standard. Joe Moran’s new spray paint series was developed during 2018 residencies at Wysing Arts Centre, Cambridge and Launch Pad LaB, France.
