EntranceWestminster Abbey

Westminster Abbey is one of the world’s great churches, with a history stretching back over a thousand years. Every year more than a million visitors from around the world come to explore this wonderful 700-year-old building. Thousands more come to worship at the daily services which are at the heart of life at the Abbey. Also has the Grave of the Unknown Soldier and Poet’s Corner with memorials to writers including William Shakespeare, Charles Dickens, Rudyard Kipling, Jane Austen, the Bronte sisters and many others. Many others are remembered in the Abbey, including Sir Isaac Newton, Charles Darwin, George Frederic Handel and Sir Winston Churchill.
