About the Show
The ancient story. Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, first performed in 1689, is inspired by Virgil’s account of the myth which follows the burgeoning love of Aeneas, a Trojan prince, and the Queen of Carthage.
The New Generation Festival presents a touring production of Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas. With up and coming young singers and a small orchestral ensemble.
