Scottish Dance Theatre – Tantalus

About the Show

Tantalus was a Greek mythological figure made, as a punishment, to stand in a stream beneath a fruit tree with low branches, with the fruit ever eluding his grasp, the water receeding when he bent to drink. The piece follows Neil’s pre-occupation with the island on which he was born (South Uist) but his necessity as a Down’s syndrome man to live elsewhere. With specially commissioned music by Shooglenifty’s Quee MacArthur, and designed and directed by plan B’s award winning artistic director Frank McConnell.
