Brooks Williams is a fearlessly evolving mélange of blues and Gospel-inspired finger-style guitar, soulful song writing, and pearly singing, which pretty much defies categorisation. His fiery picking, funky chords, walking bass lines and intricate counterpoint leads are the foundation for songs of the human experience with the heartbeat of compelling rhythm. Born in Statesboro, Georgia, now living in the mountains of Western Massachusetts, Williams was one of the first independent acoustic music artists to release a recording on CD: ‘North from Statesboro’ in 1990. This and subsequent albums, garnered him attention and praise in the music media on both sides of the Atlantic. His broad musical vision has been fleshed out over the years. His latest studio album ‘The Time I Spend With You’, is an optimistic, up-beat recording of rootsy originals, bluesy classics and finger-picked instrumentals with special guest musicians. It all comes together when Brooks Williams hits the stage; with millions of touring miles under his belt and counting; he’s set to continue down that troubadour road for a good while yet.
