The Oliviers mark the culmination of awards season in Theatreland, which also includes the Evening Standard, Critics’ Circle and our own Whatsonstage.com Awards – winners of which were announced last month (17 February 2013) during a star-studded concert at the Palace Theatre.
As previously announced, choreographer Gillian Lynne (read our interview here) and writer Michael Frayn will both receive Special Awards at this year’s Oliviers, in recognition of their contribution to theatre and the arts.
The ceremony, which will be broadcast live on BBC Radio 2 and a big screen on the Covent Garden Piazza (with a highlights package on ITV), will be hosted by Sheridan Smith and Hugh Bonneville.
