Another month, another round of trending names!
It’s time for our monthly report of the most viewed Stage Names, because here at WhatsOnStage, we don’t just report on what’s happening on stage and backstage, we are creating an online encyclopedia of all of your favourite performers and creatives!
Our who’s who of the West End and beyond is something we’re working hard on behind the scenes. As more news comes in, we’re expanding and broadening the list, with over 1000 names and rising each day.
Here are the names that have topped the list in July.

Despite the suitably summer vibes, Frozen fans continue to enjoy the recorded live performance on Disney Plus, with the cast remaining in the top ten for the second month on the trot. Our reviewer said that the performers, featuring many familiar West End faces, supply “the bubbly, larger-than-life charm that suits Disney Animation films so well,” making it essential viewing.

A new Evita took to the balcony of The London Palladium this month! Bella Brown, who plays the Mistress and is Rachel Zegler‘s alternate Eva Perón in the Jamie Lloyd-directed production, had her first scheduled – and unscheduled – performances in July. Everyone already knows who Zegler is, but her co-stars are a big source of intrigue. Team Evita has been praising its triumphant company, and the leads, James Olivas and Diego Andres Rodriguez are making quite the splash in London. Get to know them in our exclusive video below:

Every day is “A Bright New Day” for fans of Blood Brothers! Willy Russell’s classic has been an unstoppable staple of musical theatre since its inception, and that’s largely due to dedication from a much-loved cast. The autumn tour sees Vivienne Carlyle, Sean Jones, Joe Sleight and Gemma Brodrick return – all of them making their way into our trending list!

She really has been on fire this month! The first to be cast in the much-anticipated stage adaptation of The Hunger Games, fans were very excited to get to know London’s Katniss Everdeen – and check her out in action.

A crash of drums, a flash of light – Adam Filipe is entertaining audiences across the UK in another of Andrew Lloyd Webber‘s beloved musicals! Currently playing the title character in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat on tour, Filipe has had readers go go go to his Stage Name page.

Star and co-composer of the West End’s newest musical, Burlesque, Jess Folley is the stage’s Ali Rose. Our reviewer called her “a star-in-the-making“.

This month, Death on the Nile revealed its Hercule Poirot! Mark Hadfield will be the next to take on the role of the famed detective as Agatha Christie’s story sets sail on tour later this year.

Elle Ma Kinga N’Zuzi is playing the Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll in the first-ever UK tour of Tina – The Tina Turner Musical. Taking on the musical icon, the performer shares the role with Jochebel Ohene MacCarthy as they continue to roll on the river!

Another touring theatre star concludes July’s list! Djlanga Scott is giving it the old “Razzle Dazzle” as Velma Kelly in the current UK tour of Chicago. Can’t get to a venue? Watch her performance with the cast on the BBC’s Big Night of Musicals.
