The hills are alive with the sound of Molly Lynch!

Exclusive: Curve, Leicester has released a performance video featuring Molly Lynch performing the title track from The Sound of Music while exploring the iconic Bradgate Park in Leicestershire.
With music by Richard Rodgers and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, the musical follows Maria, a novice nun sent to care for the von Trapp children. Famed numbers include “My Favorite Things”, “Do-Re-Mi” and “Edelweiss”.
Now directed by Nikolai Foster, the Made at Curve production will mark the 60th anniversary of the 1965 film adaptation.
Also returning is David Seadon-Young, who will take on the role of Captain Georg von Trapp, respectively. Last year, Lynch and Seadon-Young played Eliza Doolittle and Professor Henry Higgins in the theatre’s My Fair Lady.
The video’s orchestrations adaptor and musical supervisor is George Dyer, with design by Michael Taylor, filming and editing by Crosscut Media, and hair and make-up by Elizabeth Rita. Filming took place at Bradgate Park with thanks to the Bradgate Park Trust.
Joining the two leads will be award-winning performer Joanna Riding as Mother Abbess, while Liesl, the eldest of the von Trapp siblings, will be played by Aviva Tulley. Faye Brookes will play Baroness Elsa Schraeder, Captain von Trapp’s fiancée.
Alongside Lynch and Seadon-Young, the company will feature a number of Curve regulars. Megan Ellis will play Sister Sophie; Rachel Izen will play Frau Schmidt; Minal Patel will play Max Detweiler; Mark Peachey will play Franz; Keanna Bloomfield will play Sister Margareta; Harrison Burley plays the on-stage swing, with Will Luckett and Louie Wood in the ensemble – with Luckett also as associate director.
The adult company is completed by Jamie Chatterton as Herr Zeller, Adam Colbeck-Dunn as Admiral von Schreiber, Christian Cooper as Rolf Gruber, Leonie Spilsbury as Sister Bertha. Joining the company’s ensemble are Regan-Bailey Walker, Ollie Butt, Remi Ferdinand and Simone Dean. Becky Anderson will be the on-stage swing and dance captain.
The von Trapp youngsters, who were found following an open call-out, include local young people Olivia Ademokun, Dalia Al Nagar, Mimi-Kimari Clarson, Phoebe Dalton, Jagoda Drozdz, Matilda Flower, Isla Granville, Henry Godber, Matilda Hennessy, Leo Hollingsworth, Corey Litster, Gracie Nkala, Georgia Riga, William Stafford, Porscha Staniford, Adreanna Stevenson-Todd, Theodore Tratt and Alex Wibberley. A community company will join the ensemble on stage.
On the creative team are musical supervisor and orchestrations adapter George Dyer, choreographer Ebony Molina, set and costume designer Michael Taylor, lighting designer Mark Henderson, sound designer Nick Lodge, props supervisor Ryan O’Connor, associate director Ollie Khurshid, and casting director Olivia Laydon for Jill Green Casting.
The revival will run from 22 November 2025 to 11 January 2026, with a range of accessible performances available, including British Sign Language interpreted, captioned, dementia-friendly, audio-described, and relaxed performances. The production will be accompanied by engagement activities, including an education pack, school workshops, and a Theatre Day on 4 December.
