Casting has been announced for the revival of Jesus Christ Superstar at Regent's Park Open Air Theatre.

Declan Bennett will return to play Jesus, and Tyrone Huntley will reprise the role of Judas, for which he won an Evening Standard Award.

David Thaxton and Peter Caulfield will both also return to play Pilate and Herod.

The production won this year's Olivier Award for Best Musical Revival, and was nominated for Outstanding Achievement in Music for 'creating the gig-like rock vibe of the original concept album'. The musical, which has music from Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice, is directed by Timothy Sheader.

The run, which begins on 11 August, has also been extended until 23 September, and the production will open at the Lyric Opera of Chicago in April 2018.
