Judi Dench has just joined the cast of Tom Hooper's upcoming Cats film, playing the character of Deuteronomy in a gender-flipped piece of casting. With that in mind, we've picked five other gender-flipped roles we'd love to see Dench take on.

5. Hamlet

We all need a bit of Hamlet the Dame in our lives! Dench took on the role in a fun little skit for the RSC's Shakespeare Live! event a few years back, and we'd love to see her do a full-blown version.

4. King George III in Hamilton

You'll be back time after time if Judi Dench was playing a lead role in Hamilton! Michael Jibson is nothing short of a scene-stealer, but seeing as Dench is theatre royalty it's only fair that she has a fair shot at playing King George…

3. Billy Flynn in Chicago

Dench could quite easily lend her silky smooth voice to the coy trickster Billy Flynn, with a couple of scene-stealing numbers to display her performing talents.

2. Willy Lowman in Death of a Salesman

More like DENCH of a Salesman! Playing the beleaguered, ailing salesman as he slowly reach the end of his life would be a brilliant experience. Plus, as far as we can tell Dench has never taken on a Miller play, so now seems about the right time to get started!

1. Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof

If she were a rich M! The James Bond star would be a snug fit for Tevye, who is the patriarch of a family forced to move home. Having played the leader of MI6 in the spy franchise, a leader of a family should be a walk in the park!
