The revival of Hugh Whitemore's Pack of Lies opened at the Menier Chocolate Factory this week, with Finty Williams leading the cast as Barbara Jackson.

Stars joined the cast for opening night, including Katherine Kingsley and Judi Dench – the mother of Williams.

When the show premiered in the '80s Dench starred opposite her husband Michael Williams, in the same role her daughter now plays, at the Lyric Theatre and won an Olivier Award.

The show is a dramedy about Russian spies where a detective asks to use the Jackson's house while he watches a Soviet spy ring and the couple are forced to decide whether to betray their friends or their country.

In her review for WhatsOnStage, Sarah Crompton called Pack of Lies a 'skilful, absorbing play'.
