Environmental organisation Julie’s Bicycle announced its first Creative Green Awards
A new series of environmental awards has been announced by not-for-profit organisation Julie's Bicycle and the shortlist shows theatres leading in several categories.
The Creative Green Awards recognise creative organisations and events making outstanding efforts to embed environmental action.
Creative Green is a certificate, run since 2009, which enables venues, museums, galleries, festivals and offices a chance to assess their environmental commitment. The Creative Green Awards are the only awards designed specifically for the cultural sector. Theatres recognise in the categories include the Donmar Warehouse, Gate Theatre, Lyric Hammersmith, Young Vic, Almeida Theatre and Sadler's Wells.
The awards will be hosted by Caroline Lucas MP, at Somerset House on 25 April this year.
Julie's Bicycle is a community founded in 2007 which focuses on working with arts and cultural organisations to focus on environmental sustainability.
