The Devil Wears Prada will receive its German premiere in December 2026 at the Stage Theater Neue Flora in Hamburg.
The musical features music by Elton John, lyrics by Shaina Taub and Mark Sonnenblick, and a book by Lauren Weisberger and Kate Wetherhead. Direction and choreography are by Jerry Mitchell. The stage production is based on Weisberger’s novel and the 20th Century Studios motion picture of the same name.
The story follows aspiring journalist Andy, who secures a role at Runway magazine working for editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly. As Andy attempts to meet the demands of her job, she becomes immersed in the fashion industry while questioning her ambitions and priorities. The production is also running in London at the Dominion Theatre.
Producers Kevin McCollum, David Furnish and Jamie Wilson said today: “We’re thrilled to bring The Devil Wears Prada to Hamburg – an iconic city with an extraordinary love for theatre. This launch marks an exciting new chapter for the production, and we can’t wait for audiences in Germany to experience the wit, style, and heart of this show. That’s All.”
Disney’s Tarzan is currently running at the Stage Theater Neue Flora and is scheduled to continue performances until the end of October 2026.
Uschi Neuss, managing director of Stage Entertainment Germany added: “The Devil Wears Prada is a fabulous musical property: visually striking, modern, highly entertaining, with fantastic music by Elton John – and with three strong women at its centre. This show will be a devilishly good addition to our musical offerings in Hamburg!”
Stage Entertainment Germany was founded in 2000 as part of the Stage Entertainment Group. The company operates theatres in Hamburg, Stuttgart and Berlin and presents a range of international and original musicals. Ticket pre-sales will open soon.
