Grit, Glitter and Gaslight… The Sarah McGuinness Story – A Cabaret Musical will return to the stage this spring following its run at the Etcetera Theatre in 2024.

Created and performed by Emmy-nominated documentary maker and musician Sarah McGuinness, the one-woman cabaret was first seen at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2024 before transferring to London. The show draws on McGuinness’s experiences behind the scenes in the entertainment industry, reframed as a personal musical and storytelling piece.

The soundtrack features songs by David Bowie, Kate Bush, Kurt Weill, Stephen Sondheim and Kander and Ebb’s Cabaret, alongside original material written and performed by McGuinness.

The production will open at the Circle and Star Theatre in Hampstead on Tuesday 3 March, where it will play a limited three-week season.

Performances take place at 7.30pm on selected weekdays and Saturdays, with earlier performances on some weekend dates.
