Following its surprise success at the Olivier Awards in March, there has been much speculation about a return to the West End for Katori Hall’s The Mountaintop. However, in a recent interview with Whatsonstage.com, Paul Robinson – co-artistic director of Theatre503, where the play premiered last June – hinted that he thought it was more likely to have a regional tour. “I do not know of any return for The Mountaintop in the UK, though it would be great if there could be a regional tour of James Dacre’s original UK production” he said. The next step for the Martin Luther King-centred play is a re-cast run in New York.
