Exeter’s Northcott Theatre will go dark for two months until June 25, when the venue will participate in the Exeter Summer Festival.
The administrator, who has been running the venue since February, announced that no more shows will take place until the Festival, and will as a result, be making a further 27 redundancies.
The latest job losses, from a team of part-time and casual staff, come after nine full-time staff, including the theatre’s creative director, were laid off when the theatre went into administration. (See News 21 February 2010)
Administrator Ian Walker said the decision had been taken with “great regret”.
