The world’s speediest ego-on-paws, The Hare, and his slow, steady, fell-walking counterpart, The Tortoise, are racing to Lighthouse, Poole’s Centre for the Arts from 24 November– 10 December, as Niki McCretton, the venue’s resident artist returns with The Hare and The Tortoise, a new family friendly puppet show from Stuff and Nonsense Theatre Company.
Directed by Niki, who has previously brought the highly successful shows, The Enormous Turnip and The Elves and The Shoemaker to Lighthouse, is back in the venue’s studio for the festive season with a fun-packed re-telling of this classic story.
Niki McCretton and Marc Parrett are the creative force behind the Stuff and Nonsense Theatre Company based in Bridport, Dorset. Marc, who has worked with Bristol Old Vic, Aardman Animations and The RSC, is the puppet maestro who both creates and directs the hugely loveable and incredibly dynamic puppets, while Niki is a leading early-years performance expert, and together they have created an enormously entertaining show featuring music, comedy, ingenious puppets and the race to end all races.
