Michael Howe to star in Jerry Springer – The Opera at Hope Mill Theatre Manchester

The Hope Mill Theatre production of Jerry Springer – The Opera has found its titular star ahead of opening in Manchester in August.
Michael Howe (Life Begins, Solo, Hollyoaks) will play the infamous talk show host for the four week run this summer, almost 15 years since the show was last performed in the UK.
He will be joined by a Jerry Choir made up of 14 singers from across the Greater Manchester region.
The full cast for the show includes David Burilin (Montel and Jesus), Elizabeth Chadwick (Mary, Zandra and Irene), Robbie Waugh (Chucky and Adam), CiCi Howells (Shawntel), Matt Bond (Dwight and God), Emily Chesterton (Peaches and Baby Jane), Georgina James (Andrea and Archangel Michael), Kai Jolley (Steve), Tom Lloyd (Satan and Jonathan Weiruss), and Andrew Patrick-Walker (Tremont and Angel Gabriel). Also in the company are Emily Clarke and Megan Davies-Truin.
Produced by Northern Ricochet and Bill Elms, the production will be directed by James Baker, with musical direction by Tom Chester.
Jerry Springer – The Opera has music and lyrics by Richard Thomas with book and additional lyrics by Thomas and Stewart Lee. After starting life at Battersea Arts Centre in 2001, it opened at the National Theatre in 2003 before transferring to the West End the same year.
