Former artistic director Paul Kerryson will return to direct the production
Leicester Curve will revive Lionel Bart's classic musical Oliver! over Christmas this year.
Running from 27 November 2015 to 16 January 2016, the production will be directed by former Curve artistic director Paul Kerryson, with musical direction from Ben Atkinson. Kerryson has previously directed a community production of the show in Leicester.
Based on Dickens's Oliver Twist, Oliver! first opened in the West End in 1960, and has since had numerous revivals, including 2013's WhatsOnStage Award-winning production at Sheffield's Crucible Theatre.
Current artistic director Nikolai Foster said: "I am thrilled Paul is returning to Curve this Christmas to create a brand new production of Oliver! Lionel Bart’s musical is a great example of the British musical at its very best and I am looking forward to Paul and his first-class creative team introducing this wonderful show to a new generation of theatre goers and their families."
Oliver! will feature choreography by Andrew Wright, with set design by Matthew Kinley and lighting design by Bruno Poet.
Tickets for the production go on general sale on 15 April.
