Exclusive: Josh Radnor and Noah Galvin will star in the world premiere of a new play by Jonathan Caren.

Hit Machine follows two estranged brothers, one a record mogul and the other an aspiring musician. It features original music by multi-Grammy Award winner Ben Harper with direction by Daniel Bailey.

The play was a finalist for the Eugene O’Neill’s 2025 National Playwright’s Conference and selected for IAMA’s New Works Fest and The Working Theater’s inaugural Stage Left Festival.

Caren said: “I’m interested in the way pop music can be manufactured and yet still hit something raw in us. While the play is about songwriting, it is also about the ways men handle shame, or even build entire identities around it.”

Radnor and Galvin will both make their London stage debuts in the piece, which will run at Soho Theatre from 8 July to 15 August.

Hit Machine is produced by Spiral Stairs Entertainment in association with Soho Theatre, BPM Theatrical and Kater Gordon with general management by James Steel Productions.
