The artistic director of the Tricycle Theatre Indhu Rubasingham has been recognised in the GG2 Leadership Awards.

Rubasingham won the GG2 Media & Creative Arts Award in the annual event which puts together a list of the UK's most influential and high achieving Asian professionals.

Presented by BBC Radio 5Live presenter Nihal Arthanayake, Rubasingham won alongside London Mayor Sadiq Khan, who won the Hammer Award.

Other winners include Juliet Sargeant – first black designer at the Chelsea Flower Show – for the Pride of Britain Award, Baroness Patricia Scotland of Asthal – first woman to be elected as the Secretary General of the Commonwealth Nations – for Woman of the Year and Professor Kevin Fenton – National Director for Health and Wellbeing at Public Health England – for Man of the Year.
