Full casting has been announced for James Graham's new play Monster Raving Loony, which opens at the Theatre Royal, Plymouth in February.
A new comedy about Screaming Lord Sutch the 3rd Earl of Harrow and the founder of the Official Monster Raving Loony Party, the play follows the life and exploits of the British eccentric who was also a musician who worked with the likes of Keith Moon, Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page.
Samuel James (Twelfth Night, Women Beware Women; Ragtime) will take the title role of Screaming Lord Sutch, with Joseph Alessi, Camilla Beeput, Joanna Brookes, Jack Brown playing a number of different characters.
Alessi was recently seen in The One That Got Away (Bath Ustinov Studio) and The Hook (Liverpool Everyman) whilst Beeput's theatre credits include In The Red and Brown Water (Young Vic) and Bad Girls (Garrick Theatre). Brookes’ credits include in The Rise and Fall of Little Voice (Birmingham Rep) and The Importance Of Being Earnest (Nottingham Playhouse) and Brown's include A Midsummer Night's Dream (Michael Grandage Company/West End).
The production will be directed by Plymouth artistic director Simon Stokes.
Monster Raving Loony runs at the Theatre Royal, Plymouth from 10 to 27 February.
