Caroline Flack, Tom Chambers and Charlotte Wakefield lead the touring production of the Gershwin brothers’ classic
Photos have today been released of Caroline Flack, Tom Chambers and Charlotte Wakefield in rehearsals for the UK tour of the Gershwin brothers' Crazy for You.
Flack won the 2014 series of Strictly Come Dancing, and is known for presenting programmes such as Love Island and The X Factor. Before becoming a presenter, Flack trained in musical theatre. She will play Irene on the tour.
Paul Hart, who directed the original Watermill Theatre production last year, returns to oversee the tour, which will open at Theatre Royal Plymouth on 17 August. When it first opened, WhatsOnStage's review of the production called it 'a crazy summer cocktail'.
Crazy for You has music and lyrics from the Gershwin brothers and a book by Ken Ludwig. Songs in the show include "I Got Rhythm" and "Nice Work If You Can Get It". The plot is based on the Gershwin's hit Crazy Girl where a young man is sent to look after his family's ranch but instead employs showgirls from Broadway as entertainment.
The UK tour of Crazy for You opens in Plymouth (17 to 26 August) before visiting Leeds Grand Theatre (29 August to 2 September), Wales Millenium Centre (5 to 9 September), Theatre Royal Newcastle (12 to 16 September) and more.
