Isla St Clair, known to millions for her numerous television appearances, most notably as starring alongside Larry Grayson in the BBC’s Generation Game, returns to the Dorset stage in Eyes Front! with Isla St Clair at the Mowlem Theatre, Swanage for one night only on Friday 4 March at 7:30pm.

Described as a “delightful combination of music, film and nostalgia”, the show combines live performance and film footage, and Isla presents a poignant and humorous look at the effects of music in wartime. She performs a selection of songs ranging from Napoleonic times, through to the popular hits that were born out of two world wars and the 1950’s.

During her long singing career, Isla has performed at venues as diverse as the Edinburgh Festival to the Royal Albert Hall and had stage success in The Sound of Music as well as traditional folk concerts, and numerous TV appearances including The Royal Variety, Morecambe and Wise and The Saturday Show. Isla continues to work hard as singer, presenter and producer.

Joining Isla on stage is film maker Patrick King who gives a “behind-the-scenes” look at the making of their award winning documentary films. Using film clips they illustrate how songs and music played an important part in people’s daily lives: for boosting morale, for propaganda or for just reminding people of better times during some of the darkest days in our history.

This rich mix of song, film and funny out takes, including hilarious moments filming Prince Charles and inside 10 Downing Street, makes for a light hearted family show that is both informative and entertaining.
