Images have been released of English Touring Theatre's upcoming touring production of The Weir.

The show, which is staged to mark the show's 20th anniversary, opens at the Mercury Theatre in Colchester next week. It stars Louis Dempsey (Finbar), Sean Murray (Jack), John O’Dowd (Jim), Sean O’Mahony (Brendan) and Natalie Radmall-Quirke (Valerie).

Conor McPherson's play is set in rural Ireland where locals exchange haunting stories on a stormy night. It is being directed by Adele Thomas, whose recent credits include Thomas Tallis, The Oresteia and The Knight of the Burning Pestle at Shakespeare's Globe.

The Weir was first producted at the Royal Court in 1997 and opened on Broadway in 1999.

The Weir runs at Mercury Theatre until 16 September and then tours the UK until 25 November.
