The two productions will tour nationally from September to November
The full casts have today been announced for English Touring Theatre (ETT), Royal & Derngate and Rose Theatre Kingston‘s production of Sam Holcroft‘s Rules for Living, as well as ETT and Mercury Theatre Colchester’s 20th anniversary production of Conor McPherson‘s The Weir.
Holcroft's Rules for Living, directed by Simon Goodwin, will open in Northampton on 13 September before touring to Cambridge, Windsor, Brighton, Ipswich and Kingston.
The cast includes Jane Booker, Jolyon Coy, Ed Hughes, Carlyss Peer, Laura Rogers and Paul Shelley. It also reunites the award-winning co-producing team that produced The Herbal Bed in 2016.
The show, which premiered at the National Theatre in 2015 where it starred Stephen Mangan, is centred around a traditional family Christmas and the way it tests the coping strategies of the gathered members.
McPherson's Olivier Award-winning The Weir celebrates its 20th anniversary in this touring production, directed by Adele Thomas. The show, after opening at Mercury Theatre, Colchester on 14 September, will tour to Harrogate, Cheltenham, Doncaster, Bristol, Exeter, Oldham, Poole, Huddersfield and Guildford.
The cast will include Louis Dempsey, Sean Murray, John O’Dowd, Sean O’Mahony and Natalie Radmall-Quirke.
