Dream Casting: Aladdin to fly into the West End

The rumour mill is churning once again with talk that the Broadway hit production of the Disney classic will replace ”Cats” at the London Palladium at the end of 2015. We consider our dream cast should these rumours be true

Update: It has now been confirmed that Aladdin will transfer to the Prince Edward Theatre early 2016. Read more here.

Aladdin – Liam Tamne

Erm, hello? Liam is so ideal for the title role that we think Walt Disney must have travelled to the future, seen him playing Raoul in Phantom and based the character on him.

Jasmine – Eva Noblezada

The beautiful Miss Noblezada is stunning in Miss Saigon and a worthy candidate to play any Disney princess she may wish to.

Genie – Clive Rowe

Who else for the lovable hulk made famous by the late Robin Williams than our very own Clive Rowe. His years of service as Hackney Empire's dame (he's currently appearing in Mother Goose there) will have given him plenty practise for this wacky character.

Sultan – Peter Polycarpou

He may be treading the Donmar boards as a womanising film producer in City of Angels at the moment, and a womanising factory boss in The Pajama Game earlier in the year, but we think Sultan would be the perfect role for Polycarpou to showcase his softer side.

Jafar – Tam Mutu

Yes, we know we included Tam in our True Blood dream cast, but wouldn't he just be the best Jafar? Look at them eyes! Plus he'll be reunited with City of Angels cast mate Polycarpou, and that's something…

Iago – AJ Homes

Elder Cunningham can swap doorbells for crackers in our Dream Cast. Arguably one of the funniest performances we've seen in the West End for a long time, he'd be a perfect sidekick for Tam.
