Danny Mac to star in Amélie the Musical

The full cast of the upcoming UK premiere has been announced

Full casting for the upcoming UK premiere of Amélie the Musical has been announced.

Danny Mac is to join Audrey Brisson as daydreamer Nino Quincampoix in the production which opens in previews from 11 April. Mac will play the role from 22 May on tour, while Chris Jared will play the part during the Watermill Theatre performances from 11 April to 18 May.

The rest of the cast includes Oliver Grant as Lucien / Mysterious Man, Samuel Morgan-Grahame as Joseph / Fluffy, Sioned Saunders as Gina, Johnson Willis as Collignon / Dufayel, Caolan McCarthy as Hippolito / Elton John, Faoileann Cunningham as Georgette / Sylvia, Kate Robson-Stuart as Suzanne, Josh Sneesby as Blind Beggar / Gnome, Jez Unwin as Raphael / Bretodeau and Rachel Dawson as Andamine / Philomene.

The piece is an adaptation of the hit 2001 film by Jean-Pierre Jeunet and Guillaume Laurant starring Audrey Tautou about an imaginative young woman with a gift for helping others.

Michael Fentiman will direct, Madeleine Girling will design, Tom Jackson Greaves is choreographer and the piece has orchestrations and arrangements by Barnaby Race. Musical supervision and direction is by George Francis, lighting design is by Elliot Griggs and sound is designed by Tom Marshall.

The musical has music from Hem's Daniel Messé, lyrics by Nathan Tysen and Daniel Messé and book by Craig Lucas.
