A first trailer has been released for the TV adaptation of Lucy Kirkwood's Chimerica.

Kirkwood's play, which first premiered at the Almeida Theatre in 2013 before transferring to the West End, won the 2014 Olivier Award for Best New Play as well as four other Olivier Awards.

It has been adapted into a four-part thriller starring Alessandro Nivola, alongside Terry Chen, Katie Leung, Cherry Jones, Sophie Okonedo and F Murray Abraham.

The piece has been updated and will now be set in the run-up to the 2016 election and expose the way in which relationships between East and West have altered over the decades.
