Dominic Cooke directs the UK premiere of Christopher Shinn’s play
Full casting has been announced for Teddy Ferrara, which opens at the Donmar Warehouse in October.
Directed by former Royal Court artistic director Dominic Cooke, the production will be the UK premiere of Christopher Shinn's play, which explores "society's uncomfortable embrace of the outsider".
Inspired by real events, the play follows American undergraduate Gabe as he encounters a lonely freshman, Teddy Ferrara.
Luke Newberry will play Gabe. Newberry's theatre credits include Antigone (National) and The Secret Garden (Aldwych), while television credits including In the Flesh, for which he was nominated for a BAFTA.
Playing Teddy Ferrara will be Ryan McParland, whose acting credits include How Many Miles to Babylon? (Lyric Theatre, Belfast), Hold your Tongue Hold your Dead (Semel Theatre, Boston) and the BBC television series Six Degrees.
The cast is completed by Nancy Crane, Griffyn Gilligan, Nick Harris, Christopher Imbrosciano, Oliver Johnstone, Kadiff Kirwan, Matthew Marsh, Anjli Mohindra, Pamela Nomvete, Abubakar Salim and Nathan Wiley.
The production will feature design by Hildegard Bechtler, lighting by Paule Constable and sound by Carolyn Downing.
