The WhatsOnStage Award-nominated play Born With Teeth will transfer to Stratford-upon-Avon, as revealed in the new season.
Liz Duffy Adams’ play made its world premiere in the West End in 2025. Edward Bluemel and Ncuti Gatwa starred as Christopher Marlowe and William Shakespeare in the piece that imagines their relationship at a time of political danger and artistic rivalry. The play is set in the winter of 1591, when the two writers meet in secret, developing a tense and complex connection against a backdrop of conspiracy and surveillance.
Born With Teeth will now run in the Swan Theatre from 12 February to 3 April, with a press night on 17 February.
The co-production with Playful Productions and Grain of Sand Productions is again directed by RSC co-artistic director Daniel Evans.
He is joined by set and costume designer Joanna Scotcher, lighting designer Neil Austin, sound designer George Dennis, movement director Ira Mandela Siobhan and casting director Charlotte Sutton.
Casting for the new run is to be announced.
Born With Teeth replaces the previously scheduled Othello, directed by Monique Touko and starring Sharon D Clarke in the title role, as Sharon takes time to undergo treatment for cancer. The production is currently postponed with further details to be announced in due course.
