Exeter based Bike Shed Theatre Company present a new adaptation of Antione De Saint Exupéry’s timeless story The Little Prince in its first Arts Council funded project.

The audience will follow the enchanting Little Prince on his journey from planet to planet, as he attempts to save his beloved rose and in so doing gain a greater understanding of the complexities of life. Using the text as a basis Bike Shed are currently embarking on a three week intensive devising process, using various theatrical techniques to take the audience on a voyage of discovery.

This production marks not only the first Arts Council Funded production for The Bike Shed Theatre Company, who were established in 2007, but also the Company’s first piece of devised work. Moreover it is set to be the first in-house production to be performed in their long awaited and anticipated new Devon theatre space, The Bike Shed Theatre, which opened earlier this year. The company has already been responsible for in house productions A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Magic Flute, Serendip and Beanfield.

The Little Prince promises to be a Christmas treat not to be missed and runs 14 December 2010 – 8 January 2011.
