Robert Icke's modern take on Shakespeare's Hamlet will be broadcast on BBC Two on Saturday 31 March at 9pm.

With a cast including Andrew Scott in the title role, Juliet Stevenson as Gertrude – a role for which she recently won a WhatsOnStage Award – and Jessica Brown-Findlay as Ophelia, the production played a sold-out run at the Almeida last year before transferring to the Harold Pinter Theatre in London's West End.

Earlier this year, Icke said: "I am very much looking forward to this next step on BBC Two. To be able to offer our version of Hamlet to as wide and diverse an audience as possible has always been of paramount importance to us, and now we are thrilled to be able to bring it to people across the country."

In her five-star review for WhatsOnStage, Sarah Crompton said Scott provided "an outstanding performance on a truly memorable night."

Hamlet airs on BBC Two on 31 March 2018 at 9pm.
