Little Bulb Theatre return to Bristol, at the Tobacco Factory’s studio theatre, The Brewery, with their award-winning production Crocosmia. One of the standout shows of the 2008 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Crocosmia continues to be a main stay of the company’s growing repertoire receiving high praise both nationally and internationally.

In a house that is shrinking and a world that is growing bigger, three precocious children attempt to carve out a unique space for themselves and the memory of their parents. Crocosmia follows the Brackenberg siblings and their attempts to make sense of the world through cake puppetry, romantic slide shows, and ingenious bulb experiments, all backed by their parents’ vintage record collection.

During the mouth-watering ‘Brackenberg Battenberg Cake Theatre’ sequence, the three performers guzzle down a nightly dose of 900 calories each in stodgy Battenburg cake – a total of 70 cakes over the 10 day run! For those who can stomach it, the Brewery’s resident ‘Crumpet Cakes’ bakery will be near at hand to satisfy any post-show cake cravings.
