Avenue Q>, smash hit in the West End for five years, begins a UK Tour at Bath’s Theatre Royal, and forms the centre piece of the historic venues Spring 2011 season.
Theatre Royal Bath Productions in collaboration with one-time Bath student Sir Cameron Mackintosh, mount this new tour, and bring this award-winning ‘adult sesame street’ to the provincial stage for the first time.
Other highlights of the new season including touring productions of Evita, Harper Lee’s To Kill A Mockingbird, starring Duncan Preston, soap star Ali Bastian in Agatha Christie’s thriller Verdict, and Yes Prime Minister, starring Simon Williams and Richard McCabe.
Robert Powell takes the title role in Keith Waterhouse’s Jeffrey Bernard is Unwell, and Sir Derek Jacobi plays King Lear. A revival of Hoffmann’s The Nutcracker, and the Peter Hall Company Season featuring Shakespeare’s Henry IV parts 1 and 2, and Alan Bennett’s The Madness of George III compliment a full programme of theatre.
Avenue Q will be at the theatre from February 2 to 12, and full details of the new season are available in the venue’s latest brochure with bookings being taken from December 6.
