The show, first seen in Australia, will have its UK premiere at the Marylebone Theatre
An adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland has found its cast.
The kaleidoscopic classic, involving a young girl who falls into a rabbit hole of surreality and intrigue, will be retold in an adaptation by Penny Farrow (Songs for Sarah Connor), directed and designed by Nate Bertone (Burlesque).
Using original music and puppetry to bring Carroll’s characters and Alice’s caper to life, the production was first seen in Australia in 2016 and has played to 100,000 audience members since its inception.
Set to feature are Charlotte Bradley as Alice, Eddie Ahrens as Cheshire Cat, Clare Brice as White Rabbit, Katriona Brown as Tweedle Dum, Honey Gabriel as Hatter, Sean Garratt as Caterpillar/Dormouse, Skye Hallam as Tweedle Dee, Matthew Heywood as Hare, and Daniel Page as Queen of Hearts. The cast is completed by Sophie Wilkinson and Elliot Liburd as swings.
Joining the creative team are lighting designer Jack Weir, sound designer Ella Wahlström, puppet designer Chris Barlow, casting director Nick Hockaday, associate director Eva Sampson, associate designer Will Fricker, costume supervisor Zoe Burt and associate casting director Paris Hoxton. The show is co-produced by Deus Ex Machina (DEM) Productions, Ethan Walker, and Bertone.
It will run at the Marylebone Theatre from 19 July to 31 August.
