Alexandra Burke plays the music icon

I’m Every Woman: The Chaka Khan Musical has released photos from its rehearsal room.
Alexandra Burke will lead the new musical exploring Khan’s life and career. It features songs from her solo work and her time with the band Rufus, including “I Feel for You”, “Tell Me Something Good”, “Ain’t Nobody”, “Sweet Thing”, “Higher Love” and “Through the Fire.” The book includes appearances from figures such as Joni Mitchell, Prince, Stevie Wonder and Steve Winwood.
The production will receive its world premiere with a limited run at the Peacock Theatre from 5 to 28 March 2026, with a spell at the Belgrade Theatre, Coventry from 1 to 4 April, before moving to the Congress Theatre, Eastbourne from 7 to 11 April.
The creative team includes book writer Nia T Hill, director Racky Plews, musical supervisor Mark Crossland, choreographer Ebony Clarke, set designer Sara Perks, sound designer Chris Whybrow, costume designer Natalie Pryce, hair and makeup designer JJ Wigs, casting director Debbie O’Brien, associate director Oliver Lidert, production manager Toby P Darvill and general manager Emily Obasohan. Further casting for the other dates will be announced in due course, with the Peacock cast revealed here.
Burke will perform on 2, 3 and 4 April in Coventry, with an evening-only performance on the final date, and will appear in all shows apart from matinees in Eastbourne. In London, Jordan Frazier will play Chaka Khan on 12, 18 and 25 March.
The production is presented by Adrian Grant Productions in association with Khan, with co-producers Willette Klausner Murphy for WMK Productions, Tammy Michelle, Mahben Quddus and Dave Lumby.
