Alex Kingston to star in Admissions at Trafalgar Studios

Joshua Harmon’s play will open at the end of February

Alex Kingston is to return to the stage in a new play at Trafalgar Studios.

Admissions opens in previews in London on 28 February, starring Kingston as school admissions administrator Sherri. Joshua Harmon's comedy-drama follows what happens when Sherri tries to diversify the student body of a prep school.

The piece first opened on 12 March 2018 at the Lincoln Centre in New York. It won the Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for Best Play. Daniel Autkin's production transfers to London, with an opening night on 12 March and running until 25 May, before heading out on a UK tour. Further casting will be announced in due course.

Kingston's previous credits include Dr Elizabeth Corday in the TV series ER, The Fortunes and Misfortunes of Moll Flanders (1996) and Doctor Who. Her theatre credits include Luise Miller at Donmar Warehouse and Macbeth at Manchester International Festival opposite Kenneth Branagh. Harmon's other plays include Bad Jews which opened in Bath before transferring to The Other Palace (then the St James Theatre) and the Arts Theatre.

Venues on the tour include Richmond Theatre (May 2019), the Cambridge Arts Theatre (June 2019), the Malvern Festival Theatre (June 2019) and the Lyric Theatre at The Lowry in Salford (June 2019).
