Royal Court 2019 season to feature Jack Thorne, John Tiffany and Kylie Jenner play

The Royal Court has announced its programming for the first half of 2019.

Jack Thorne and John Tiffany (writer and director of The Cursed Child) will reunite to present The End of History…, about Greenham Common and how it's been forgotten. The show runs in the downstairs theatre from 27 June to 10 August, with design by Grace Smart, lighting by Jack Knowles and sound by Tom Gibbons.

The previously announced Cyprus Avenue by David Ireland will run in the downstairs space from 14 February to 23 March, returning to the Royal Court after running in the upstairs space originally.

Jasmine Lee-Jones will present a new play entitled Seven Methods of Killing Kylie Jenner, about the problems regarding the influence of TV and social media stars, from 4 to 27 July. It is directed by Milli Bhatia and runs in the upstairs space, developed as part of the Royal Court's Young Court programme.

Anchuli Felicia King's comedy White Pearl will premiere in the downstairs space from 10 May to 8 June. All about the intercultural racism among East Asian women, the world premiere production is directed by Nana Dakin.

Abhishek Majumdar's Pah-La, which was the heart of a programming controversy last year, will run in the upstairs space from 3 to 27 April with direction by Debbie Hannah. It follows a Tibetan monk who decides to self-immolate.

Four former inmates, Lucy Edkins, Jennifer Joseph, Terri Ann Oudjar and Jade Small, will devise and present an autobiographical show entitled Inside Bitch, about life for female prisoners, overseen by Clean Break. It runs from 27 February to 23 March in the upstairs space. The piece is conceived by Stacey Gregg and Deborah Pearson.

From 30 January to 16 February, Jade Lewis will direct Nicôle Lecky in her self-performed play Superhoe, about a young girl who is immersed in her Instagram lifestyle. The piece is produced alongside Talawa Theatre.

Selina Thompson's salt. will receive a three-week run in the upstairs space from 14 May to 1 June. Directed by Dawn Watson, the show explores the legacy of transatlantic slave routes.

The new season will also feature a Brexit Weekender from 29 to 30 March featuring Matthew Herbert's big band of European musicians, while on 13 April there will be a series of filmed monologues screened in the downstairs space curated by Lynette Linton with Christopher Haydon. Winsome Pinnock will join writers including Roy Williams, Kwame Kwei-Armah, Natasha Gordon and Linton herself.

Simon Stephens' podcast Playwrights' Podcast will return for a final season featuring writers such as Laura Wade, Zinnie Harris, Winsome Pinnock, Jez Butterworth, David Eldridge and Peter Gill.

From May 2019 the Royal Court Theatre will also commit to running a weekly captioned performance on all their shows post press night alongside the usual access performances.
