Sam Shepard, who passed away last July, will be celebrated with an afternoon of performances and readings at the Royal Court on 12 November.

Curated by Lloyd Hutchinson, Nancy Meckler and Stephen Rea, the event will feature scenes from Shepard's plays and poetry he wrote during his life. The award-winning playwright premiered a number of shows at the Royal Court throughout the 1970s and 1980s.

Performing on the day will be Ronke Adekoluejo, Kenneth Cranham, Marty Cruickshank, O-Lan Jones, Toby Jones, Kate Fleetwood, Hutchinson, Joe Penhall, Rea, Judith Roddy, Indira Varma, Jason Watkins, with more to be announced.

Shepard's plays including Fool For Love, Buried Child and A Lie of the Mind have all recently been revived in London, with a West End production of True West beginning this winter.

The event begins at 3pm, with tickets available on the Royal Court website. All proceeds will go towards supporting emerging playwrights.
