Robert Webb and Mark Heap take over in Jeeves and Wooster

The pair will replace Stephen Mangan and Matthew Macfadyen in the production at the Duke of York’s Theatre from 7 April

Robert Webb and Mark Heap will take over from Stephen Mangan and Matthew Macfadyen in Jeeves and Wooster in Perfect Nonsense at the Duke of York's Theatre from 7 April 2014.

Robert Webb will play Bertie Wooster and Mark Heap will play Jeeves in Sean Foley's production of David and Robert Goodale's story centring around two of PG Wodehouse's best-known characters.

The production, which opened at the Duke of York's Theatre on 30 October 2013, has also announced an extension, and is now playing to 20 September 2014. Mark Hadfield will continue in the role of Seppings.

Robert Webb is best known for his collaborations with David Mitchell, which include Peep Show, The Mitchell and Webb Situation and That Mitchell and Webb Look. His stage credits include Raving at Hampstead Theatre last year, and Neil LaBute's Fat Pig at Trafalgar Studios.

Mark Heap has starred in several TV comedies including Spaced, Green Wing and Friday Night Dinner, and has also been seen on TV in Jam, Brass Eye and Lark Rise to Candleford. His earlier stage roles include Cartoons From A Cold Corner (Gate Theatre) and Dragon (National Theatre).

Jeeves and Wooster in Perfect Nonsense is produced in the West End by Mark Goucher and Mark Rubinstein, and continues at the Duke of York's Theatre until 20 September 2014.
